Description
Philosophy, the love of wisdom, is under-used in today's decision making. This course will explore the philosophical contributions of Albert Schweitzer exemplified in his way of living and his great books, Philosophy of Civilization and Reverence for Life. Schweitzer's example and thought are extremely useful today as we attempt to find out what matters most. In addition, we'll look at a new movement gaining ground in practical philosophy-the American Philosophical Practitioners Association (APPA) uses philosophy as a counseling basis for clients seeking to solve depression and other problems without drugs. Lou Marinoff's Plato, Not Prozac, explains this concept. Wisdom leads to happiness-find out how to add both to your own life in this thought-provoking course.
