ART 1070 - 301 NM Handbuild Ceramics


The course introduces studio ceramics in an off-campus studio in Time Space, Songdo. It provides the basic technical, historical, theoretical and hands-on experience needed to understand the process and make high-fired, hand-made stoneware ceramics. Through making ceramic objects in various techniques, formal discussions, and critiques, students are introduced to historical and contemporary artistic and aesthetic issues transcending the clay medium. Students work in stoneware clay and firework in high fire reduction.
