Description
This course focuses on the modeling, analysis and control of dynamic systems. The modeling portion of the course includes mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, thermal, and fluidic systems. Methods employed involve solving sets of coupled differential equations using time-domain (i.e., state-space), frequency-domain (i.e., Laplace transform), and numerical techniques. The control-systems portion of the course focuses on the use frequency-domain techniques, and includes topics such as block diagrams, stability analysis, steady-state error, PID control, and root-locus design.
