PHARM 6870 - IPE Midvale Experience

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a learning opportunity in collaborative practice for a patient with chronic care needs. This learning experience is based upon four competency domains identified in the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Core Competencies. It includes 1.) Values and Ethics, 2.) Roles and Responsibilities, 3.) Interprofessional Communication, and 4.) Teams and Teamwork. In addition, this course incorporates concepts of cultural competence, patient safety, and health literacy. Students will work closely with medical students and other health care team members including community health workers, medical assistants, dental professionals and social workers.
