Description
This course is an introduction to the emerging fields of micro/nanoscience and micro/nanotechnology. We will discuss the study of materials with dimensions on the micrometers and sub-micrometers. Topics include micro/nanofabrication, nanoparticle synthesis, surface properties and interaction at micro/nanoscale, imaging and spectroscopic tools to characterize micro/nanomaterials, devices and applications at micro/nanoscale. Learning outcomes will be achieved through lectures, discussions, projects and hands-on experiments including scanning electron microscopy, spectroscopic methods for characterization of micro/nanomaterials.
