Description
This workshop is designed for beginners who have never worked with glass before. We will focus on fabricating a work of art in glass that creates linear patterns from one millimeter glass rods and ribbons. You will have a 4 inch x 4 inch glass plate. We will use transparent and opal colors to make the plate form and you can design any color variation that you want. You will learn how to cut glass into stingers and rods, and gain understanding about the chemistry of glass, firing temperatures, and how glass behaves under heat. This is a one-day class with pick up of projects at a later date, after firing the glass in the kiln for 50 hours total.
