PHARM 7563 - Outreach Poison Prevention Education Elective

The primary purpose of this online elective is to provide students tools and the experience needed to provide outreach education programs to a variety of audiences. It is our hope that after graduation, students will continue to provide poison prevention education in the community in which they practice. Utah Poison Control Center’s outreach education efforts are directed to people of all ages including parents of children under six years of age, pre-school students, and older adults. Outreach efforts include minority groups and other disadvantaged populations. Examples of outreach include tabling and presentations at Safe Kids fairs, senior centers, schools, and other community events.
