Description
This course is designed as a technical elective for students in Materials Science and Engineering. Course content will include solving problems through the engineering design process, identifying the need for new materials in industry, designing a project, rapid prototyping of a minimum viable product, building a business plan, pitching new technology ideas to investors, and making team decisions about getting new technology into the market. Valuable design and prototyping skills such as Arduino, solidworks, 3d printing, and others will be emphasized during first half of semester and actual technology design will follow for second half of semester.
