H EDU 4180 - Community Health and Social Justice

This course provides an introduction to principles of community-based prevention practices in health promotion and education through the lens of social justice. Topics include the use of media advocacy, resiliency, community organizing, and policy change to influence prevention efforts. Community-based prevention in the context of specific public health concerns such as substance abuse, violence, and mental health are discussed.
