At the end of this course you should be able to understand corporate securities, security issuance, and major securities markets; understand important corporate decisions, such as real options, IPOs, corporate payout decisions, capital structure decisions, and M&As; understand how corporate financing decisions impact the value of the firm and the effect of financing issues on investment decisions and apply the methodologies learned in this class (e.g., research literature, do corporate event studies) to real-world problems.
