Description
This course provides an overview of individual psychotherapeutic treatment with emphasis on the necessity and development of practitioner self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, empathy and therapeutic relationship through healing oriented principles and factors, as well as integration of professional boundaries and reflective practice.
Evidence-based techniques are discussed which include an introduction to psychodynamic, interpersonal and existential-humanistic theoretical frameworks; as well as an introduction to cognitive and dialectical-behavioral therapies, and motivational interviewing.
