This course features a lecture component focusing on microbial diversity, genomics and evolution and an integrated "live" science laboratory class focusing on environmental microbiology, encompassing topics relevant to public health and basic microbiology. The course provides students with knowledge in microbial genomics and evolution and practical training in laboratory techniques including microbiology, molecular microbial identification and genomics, project management, data visualization and scientific presentation.
