Description
There is nothing like an eyewitness to enhance our understanding of history. Each week a new presenter will offer unique perspectives based on their own personal experiences of historical events during and following World War II. The presenters include Lily Havey, who spent childhood years in a Japanese internment camp in Colorado; Lennox Tierney, who served on General Douglas MacArthur's staff for the US occupation of Japan; Nell Bright, a member of the WASP (Women's Airforce Service Pilots); Middy Gardner, who worked at The New York Times; and Joel Shapiro, who was present following the liberation of Dachau. Each of our presenters will reminisce and then open the floor for questions from class members.
