PROED 803 - Fire Service Leadership Academy: Leading an Agile Organization, Phase One

The Fire Service Leadership Leading an Agile Organization Certificate program builds on the skills learned in Foundations for Leadership and addresses the unique educational development needs of fire service professionals who seek to take the next step in expanding their leadership skills and knowledge of global issues that may impact the fire service locally. Designed in cooperation with the Salt Lake Valley Fire Alliance, the Leading an Agile Organization certificate requires participants to complete two phases of 2 ? -day intensive training programs. Phase One of the training provides an opportunity to learn relevant leadership skills such as how to deal with changes in a complex organization, how to deal effectively with the media in times of crisis, negotiation and conflict resolution, and understanding the history and contemporary status of terrorism. The Fire Service Leadership Academy also provides a great opportunity to network with and learn from experiences of other fire service professionals from across the state. Both phases of Leading an Agile Organization must be completed for to attain a University of Utah certificate.
