OSHER 698 - Shakespeare: English History Plays

This course will focus on three of William Shakespeare's most famous English History plays, Henry IV Parts I and II and Henry V. These plays feature some of Shakespeare's most memorable characters: his greatest comic creation (Sir John Falstaff), the youthful Prince Hal (later Henry V), Henry's rival Hotspur, and numerous others. We'll spend two weeks on each of these plays. An optional visit to the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, where Henry V will be one of the featured plays, may be scheduled.
