PROED 524 - Nonprofit Taxation and the Regulatory Environment

In this course, we'll examine the tax exempt status of nonprofits and what you need to do to protect that status. We will also review the form 990 and discuss this form as a reporting and public relations tool. We will spend time on Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT), excess benefit transactions, and other special tax topics. Finally, we'll review the Utah state regulatory environment and requirements for the charitable solicitation permit.
