ELI 670 - Listening/Discussion Skills Using American Video

High-intermediate students work on improving their listening skills through watching three videos. Comprehension of conversations and idiomatic expressions are practiced in a variety of listening exercises that include main ideas as well as details. The culture of each video as well as its vocabulary is incorporated into discussions and daily activities. A guest speaker from the community allows students to hear another American accent as well as share information. Surveying Americans and outside listening assignments help develop confidence as well.
