ELI 792 - Oral Proficiency

Participants in this advanced level speaking class will be studying and emulating the effective forms of group discussions and public speaking. Over the course of the term, students will form groups to discuss relevant topics and then present short oral presentations to their peers. Members of the class will gather information from in class lectures, videos, Internet and outside sources to provide their classmates with informative presentations of mutual interest. All presentations will be videotaped and analyzed by the class. Topics such as 'public-persona', gestures, eye contact and voice tone will be covered.
