ED PS 7510 - Cognition, Learning, and Behavior

Meets with ED PS 6410. Provides basic information about the human cognitive system. Topics include historical context of the psychology of human cognition, classical conditioning, operant conditioning, extinction, generalization, discrimination, schedules of reinforcement, social learning theory, sensory memory, short-term memory, long-term memory, verbal learning theory, episodic memory, semantic memory, implicit memory, perception and pattern recognition, reasoning and problem solving, psycholinguistics, hemispheric lateralization, memory and eyewitness testimony, statement validity analysis, and artificial intelligence. Students enrolled in ED PS 7510 will be expected to meet a higher standard of performance and may be assigned additional work.
