ELI 792 - Oral Proficiency

This advanced course is designed to give students the opportunity to improve spoken English in academic situations. Students will learn strategies to handle complicated situations with comprehensible communication, give appropriate responses to a given situation, and to express opinions and knowledge using circumlocution and fine shades of meaning. Students will be introduced to conversational English including greetings, negotiations, and requesting and are expected to participate actively in class.
