Your day's hike behind you, you settle into camp near a waterfall and crystalline pool, gaze at the snow-capped peaks catching the evening alpenglow, and pull out an energy bar and some ramen noodles. There's no reason for your palette to suffer when backpacking. Make the meal match the mood with tasty, nutritional, and economical meals made from grocery store items. We'll teach you everything you need to know to prepare three squares a day for an extended weekend in the wilderness, meals such as our Thai-restaurant-rivaling tofu veggie curry with rice, which we will sample during class. We'll give you the insider's track on where to look for unique ingredients, offer a strategic selection of fresh ingredients that really make a difference, and give you a list of ideas that will have your friends clamoring to be included on your trips.
