SW 6879 - Clinical Hypnosis

A beginning through intermediate course focused on practical skill development in using hypnosis clinically. Content includes facilitating hypnotic induction and phenomena, deepening techniques, practice in formulating hypnotic suggestions and constructing therapeutic metaphors, teaching patients self-hypnosis and anxiety management, administering hypnotizability scales, strategies and techniques for pain management, methods of unconscious exploration, hypnosis and memory, age regression and working with victims of abuse, applications with medical problems, habit disorders, methods of ego-strengthening and enhancing self-esteem, analysis of videotapes of Dr. Milton H. Erickson, technique selection and treatment planning, and ego-state therapy. Over 100 pages of practical handouts are included. The course is pre-approved toward national certification in clinical hypnosis. **Course offered Fall only**
