MST 6600 - Regression Analysis and Data Mining

Introduction to linear regression (including an introduction to probability and basic statistics), design of experiments (includes working in interdisciplinary teams on research projects and writing the model based on the manner by which data are collected), and an introduction to data mining and some of the basic techniques currently in use. Students in this course should have a good mathematical background, especially in calculus, but are not required to have prior knowledge or experience in statistics. There is one 2-hour lecture and one 2-hour computer lab per week.
