Description
The concept of teams is found in virtually all orginizations today. Generally, we look for the team to catch the vision of its potential. We will examine the characteristics of high-performing teams and the leader's role in creating them. We will look at the ways the orginization's structure, processes and culture undermine team effectiveness. We will examine the stages of team development and the leader's roll at each stage. We will indentify the difference between a group and a team and how an organization gets what it asks for, not necessarily what it wants. We will examine why team members don't trust each other, won't play nicely together, and the hard truth of what to do about it. We will complete a team maturity analysis to assess the participant's leadership style and how it supports or thwarts the team.
