Description
This seminar focuses on examination, critique and application of the information technology tools and methods that are related to the development of nursing knowledge. The course is focused on understanding the state of the science of information technology (IT) and health care and nursing informatics. Understanding IT's contribution to nursing and health care knowledge and the use of information tools for communicating and acquiring knowledge and insight from data and information are stressed. A primary goal of the course is to critically examine information technology and its relevance for research methods and processes, and the influence of policy on those processes.
