YEHS 90 - Youth Academy of Excellence (Age 12-15)

YAE is designed to give highly motivated students entering the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades the chance to join with other academically skilled students in a two-week summer workshop on campus at the University of Utah. Students combine academic work with speakers, field trips, and group-building activities. The course work is divided into specific areas: science, mathematics, and writing workshops. Students should choose an area of academic specialty in which they are skilled and interested. Mornings will generally be spent on the academic areas; afternoons will be used for special topic projects followed by group activities, field trips, or speakers. Information on financial aid is available upon request. Application requires most recent test scores, student essay, and teacher recommendation.
