Description
This Certificate Program is cosponsored by the American Water Works Association and it is intended for its members. Participants will gain a thorough knowledge of contemporary leadership principles and develops the skills necessary to use these principles in the workplace. Understanding employee selection and performance management, work group dynamics, managing teams, group problem solving, team leadership strategies, total quality management, and characteristics of high-performance teams are other topics that are covered. An emphasis is placed on coaching and leading a team through a complex change situation. Skills needed to manage conflict will be reviewed. Workplace safety is addressed including understanding theft, employee control, risk assessment, security training, emergency planning and terrorism is also reviewed. 40 clock hour CEUs.
