LLART 88 - Children's Book Illustration: Writing With Pictures

This workshop covers pacing and rhythm, clarifying text with picture readability, and storyboarding a 32-page picture book. (We'll each create a picture-book dummy.) Discussions and critiques will help you discover or refine your illustration style. We'll also examine sample portfolios to see what type of art to display, how to make a travel portfolio, and the best kind of handouts to leave behind. We'll cover query letters, sources for publishing house addresses and contact names, and what to include in your mailing.
