LLHU 314 - Jazz Appreciation

Develop a sensory appreciation of jazz as we listen to New Orleans, swing, bebop, cool, main stream, hard bop, bossa nova, avant-garde, fusion, and more. You'll learn to identify the instruments you hear and their roles in the ensemble, develop an understanding of jazz improvisation, and discover the cultural contexts from which jazz sprang.
