Description
Now more than ever, public administrators are required to deliver quality service with fewer staff, and on a leaner budget. This course focuses on the human aspects of delivering increased service with fewer resources, and deals with questions such as: How should the public administrator analyze work processes and staffing in order to ensure efficiency and quality? What effect does this have on overworked employees? What kind of motivational techniques can be used to encourage employees to be more efficient and to provide meaningful customer services with fewer resources? How can public administrators recruit, select, and retain capable and competent employees? By focusing on selection, motivation, coaching/mentoring and reward strategies, the course will identify the methods that best assist public administrators meet a higher expectation of customer service with fewer available resources.
