Description
PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. In this week-long accelerated program camp style session, you will learn how utilize PHP to create dynamic web pages and query a database to display select information tailored to your specifications. Topics include installing PHP/MySQL, publishing data to the web, 2D vs. 3D design, relational database design concepts, content formatting and submission, making a basic content-management system, etc. We will then use Macromedia Dreamweaver to organize, optimize, and lay out these documents for use on the web in the form of dynamic web pages. Advanced concepts covered will include complicated site template construction, nested templates, local vs. remote organizational techniques, HTML uses (and when not to use it), HTML vs. CSS style sheets, etc.
