Description
Provides the occupational health nurse with advanced skill and knowledge that encompasses practice, administration, and more complex roles of occupational health nursing. It articulates seven ecological hazards that can affect various work settings, the need for medical surveillance practices to monitor these risks, and the legal requirements to monitor them. The nurse will identify the various prevention methods available to reduce or prevent work place death, injuries, and illnesses. The course addresses the nurse's role in health promotion/wellness programs, case management, and treating injuries and illnesses. Explore ethical dilemmas and conflict in a variety of occupational health settings involving laws, insurance rules, professional codes of conduct, and corporate policies.
