ANAT 5000 - Structure of Hard Tissues

An advanced course on all aspects of normal hard tissues structure. Topics covered include histology, ultrastructure, mineralogy, biochemistry, radiobiology and solid state physics of the organic and mineral components. Emphasis will be on enamel and bone, but other hard tissues as well as some pathological conditions will be covered. Dosimetry and dating techniques will be presented as special topics. Term paper required.
