PRT 2006 - Natural Resources Learning, Water-Based: River Safety and Rescue

Teaches river runners in any type of craft, what equipment is necessary, and how to properly use it. Students will spend three days on a river practicing rescues and safety techniques. Emphasis will be on making rescues with available equipment rather than elaborate, bulky and costly special equipment that might be appropriate for a search and rescue team but not practical for the general river runner. Environmental impact and land-use management will be covered in the instruction.
