Description
Teaches students how to identify the underlying psychological dynamics of food obsession. For those interested in treating clients who are bulimic, anorexic, or obese. The borderline-narcissistic continuum is discussed as well as integration of Mahler's separation-individuation theory in relation to eating disorders. Students learn how to formulate a treatment plan including individual, family, and group psychotherapy. Difficult cases are presented to understand particular problems that arise in treatment. Class lectures and presentations.
