SURG 7470 - Emergency Medicine Career Program

This program is designed to help interested students plan for a career in emergency medicine. The program will allow each student sufficient exposure to the field of emergency medicine to permit an informed career decision. Students will be requried to take senior electives in emergency medicine with at least one elective at the University Hospital Emergency Department. Students will be required to complete a clinically relevant research project in emergency medicine. Students applying for this program will need to complete their research month and their University Emergency Department elective by November. Students will evaluate and treat patients in the Emergency Department under the direct supervision of the attending physician. Each student will be assigned a career and a research adviser from the Emergency Medicine faculty.
