Description
This is a 4-week examination of the impact of toxicologic processes on patients in Utah. Students will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of ~8 people rotating at the Utah Poison Control Center. Students will follow patients managed by the UPCC in hospitals throughout the state for various toxicologic processes, then present daily at table rounds. Responsibilities include: researching types of poisonings/toxicologic processes to make recommendations for patient care, follow-up with care team members, communicating treatment recommendations & documenting patient status, presentations on toxicologic topics, journal club presentations, virtual attendance at regional/national case conferences, & optional submission of an abstract to 1 of 2 annual national conferences in Medical Toxicology.
