SURG 7715 - Advanced Surgery

Advanced Surgery is a new MD Program course that students may complete to fulfill the MD program Phase 3 inpatient surgery requirement.  Advanced Surgery will be a 4-week hospital-based clinical experience that expands on the foundational skills developed during the Phase 2 Surgery Inpatient Immersion.  Students will assume increasing responsibility for patient care and gain confidence in their ability to manage peri-operative and post-operative patients in the inpatient setting.  Learning methods will include clinical work (90% of time) and classroom-based activities (10%), including asynchronous study and small group learning.
