PBHLT 6655 - Community Organizing and Engagement

This course will introduce students to the invaluable process of organizing a community to improve health status and to address other community concerns. Students will become familiar with the art of community engagement to lead themselves and to use their own voice as a means of community empowerment to achieve their goals. The class will follow a seminar format that will also include discussion of readings, assignments promoting critical thinking, guest lecturer presentations, and breakout group activities.
