Description
The purpose of this course is two-fold: (1) to research and design formative and summative assessment strategies that are aligned with arts teaching strategies and methods, and (2) to collaborate with a community partner to design interdisciplinary arts lessons and/or community-engaged experiences. These assessments and interdisciplinary arts lessons/experiences are implemented in ATFA 6901 as the conclusion to the arts teaching project. ATFA 6900 and ATFA 6901 occur during the final year (two semesters) of a student's program of study and require approximately 20 hours per week of supervised experience. Students receive formal and informal coaching, observation, and feedback in the design of interdisciplinary arts lessons and/or community-engaged experiences and of arts teaching assessments.
