The Bull Creek Archaeological Field School is an 8-day field experience, from Oct. 3 to Oct 10, 2026; with travel to the field site occurring on Friday, October 2nd, and returning on Sunday, October 11th. Work at Bull Creek will be focused on identifying and documenting mostly Fremont prehistoric sites in the Bull Creek Archaeological District at the foot of the Henry Mountains. Participants will become versed in survey techniques, site and feature documentations, artifact identifications and cataloging, GPS mapping, and photo-documentation, all to a standard that will facilitate the listing of the sites on the National Register of Historic Places. Applicants must be in moderately good shape and capable of walking 5-7 miles a day over uneven terrain. Field school dates are not flexible. Applicants can reach out directly to the project director (jerry_cpaa@comast.net) with questions prior to the Oct. 2 departure date, and pre-session Zoom training sessions may be scheduled (TBD).
