Description
The aim of this class is to give first year ELP doctoral students a grounding in some of the big issues surrounding and undergirding dynamic policy and/or leadership historical, current-day and future conflicts and opportunities in both the U.S. and global education arenas. We will interrogate how education leadership and policy in both higher education and K-12 education has historical and contemporary conceptual and ideological roots which can be seen through various theoretical viewpoints. Power dynamics also play a role in understanding education leadership and policy as well and this is something we will cover in the course.
