Description
This course introduces students to key concepts and methods in nutrition and integrative physiology research including nutrition epidemiology, dietary interventions, basic nutrition science experiments, and qualitative research. The course covers study design and methodology, statistical analysis, interpreting findings, and critical evaluation of published nutrition research. Students will learn about the design of and findings from major population and clinical studies (e.g. cohorts, randomized controlled trials) that have been done across the globe. Lectures and activities will address nutrition in the context of leading chronic disease outcomes (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer).
