Description
This course will provide training in the physical, chemical, and biological factors that sustain streams and riparian areas. Social, political and economic factors will be considered in the context of conservation and restoration of these habitats and the ecosystem services they provide. The course is comprised of directed readings, discussion, exercises in the laboratory and field, and a community-engaged learning (CEL) component. Field-based exercises will be conducted at sites along local water bodies, and will include sites where green infrastructure facilities exist or restoration activities are underway.
