Description
Papermaking is a fascinating and versatile artform that combines craftsmanship and creative expression. Its potential as a medium is often underestimated. This class focuses on the Eastern style papermaking process. We'll explore the most ancient form of papermaking, the Amate, using the bark from a Mulberry Tree. Students will use those same fibers, using a different technique, to create striking yet delicate paper. This step-by-step class will begin with the most basic foundation of paper and finish with a product unique to the individual artist.
