This course is designated as a Community Engaged Learning (CEL) course. It includes two main components: a 1.5-hour weekly in-person class session and a community engagement commitment of screening patients and families for social needs and connecting them to community resources at Primary Children’s Hospital. Students enrolled for 3 credit hours will complete one 3-hour shift per week, while those enrolled for 4 credit hours will complete two 3-hour shifts per week.
