Course full title: Seminar in Scholarly Communication The aim of this course is to promote cohort-building, professional development, and scholarly communication skills for graduate students in Asian and Latin American Studies. Students will receive one hour of area studies credit for participating in intellectual life in International and Area Studies (IAS) and in their disciplines. Requirements: 1. Presentation at the IAS Research Symposium 2. Attend two Faculty Friday presentations in Asian or Latin American studies 3. Attend two IAS-sponsored events in addition to Faculty Fridays 4. Attend any two additional scholarly or professional development events 5. Choose from IAS-sponsored guest lectures or conference events, College of Humanities graduate professional development workshops, Marriott Library workshops, Tanner Humanities Center events, or events in disciplinary departments/colleges 6. One paragraph response to each event attended.
