OSHER 83 - The 2024 Election and Democracy

The 2024 election is approaching and for many it's the most important election of our lifetime. Democracy itself is on the ballot as one of the candidates seems eager to replace democracy with authoritarian rule. The course starts in September and ends just before the election. We will follow the events as they happen and try to assess their significance for the election. A number of invited speakers will help us with this assessment. We plan to have an extra session two days after the election to consider how things turned out and what to expect for American democracy as we go forward.
