WRTG 7920 - Community College Professional Apprenticeship

This course is a mentored practicum experience at Salt Lake Community College. Depending on prior teaching experience and personal preferences, participants are either lead instructors or in-class co-teachers with experienced SLCC writing faculty. In addition to teaching, apprentices shadow faculty mentors during service activities, participate in a cohort-based reading group on community college writing studies, and prepare proposals for the Two-Year College English Association West conference. They may also work with writers individually in the SLCC Student Writing & Reading Center.
