Students are responsible to bring an inflatable or hard-shell kayak, paddle and PFD type III life jacket. Students are responsible for transportation of their own kayak and $5 entry fee to Little Dell. Supplemental gear like bilge pumps, paddle floats and sprayskirts are NOT required for this course. Dress appropriately for weather conditions with sun-protective clothing such as a moisture-wicking long sleeve shirt or jacket, hat with a brim and sunglasses. Wetsuits or drysuits are welcome, but not required. Inflatable kayak packages can be rented from the University of Utah Campus Recreation Services or a sporting goods shop; please reserve early.
